Pigmented Lesions

About Pigmnted Lesions

Brown spots may be removed with the Q-switched YAG laser, the BBL or with liquid nitrogen.  The treatment used depends on the type, number and locations of the lesions.

The Q-switched YAG laser is best for a few discreet lesions, and it generally works well with 1 - 2 treatments.  There will be dark, thin crusts after treatment that may be covered with makeup.  This lasts for 3 - 5 days.

The IPL treat is best for lots of brown spots over a larger area of skin.  There is less discoloration while the area is healing post treatment.  The BBL has the advantage of also treating red discoloration of the skin.  More treatments may be needed.

Liquid nitrogen is used for seborrheic keratoses, which are benign, brown growths on the skin.  These generally will not disappear with laser or IPL treatments.
